“When you ask, you better be willing!”
That means whatsoever we ask for we had better be willing to receive and not just in a short term.
MATTHEW 7: 7-8 (KJV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Sometimes, we as people ask for things in life but when those things come to fruition, we back away. Why are we asking for something that we will later change our minds about?
If you are asking for a raise on your job and you are praying for your financial needs to be met and it is given to you then why do you complain about the job description that comes with that raise?
If you are asking for a leadership role in whatever you do and yet the minute you step into it you are complaining about being used then why are you praying for that role?
If you are asking for God to use you and he sends you into the fields on a mission trip then why are you complaining about the climate, lack of food, and the travel?
If you are asking to grow your business then why are you complaining about the small victories?
If you are asking for healing then why are you complaining about the very thing you asked to be done away with?
If you are asking to be global and booked then why are you complaining about travel, your “free” time, and too much to do?
Do you remember the time when you were little and you begged your parents for that new toy for Christmas? You were so happy to get that new toy but two weeks later you wanted nothing to do with that toy. That is how most of us are with the things we ask for.
Sometimes a lot of us complain about the very thing we asked God, our parents, our bosses, our pastors, and our investors for. Why are you asking for it anyway?
Why are we praying without ceasing for something we know we’re either going to complain about or toss to the side when it no longer fits us?
It’s hard to stop a habit but we all have done it. I will gladly raise my hand to agree. If we are going to be placed in a higher position, our mouths and minds need to be on mute. If we are going to ask then we had better be willing to do the work that the position entails.
Don’t ask if you’re going to compain about what you have received!
Don’t knock if you’re going to complain about the wait time for the door to open.
Don’t seek if you’re going to complain about what you have found.
If you’re going to COMPLAIN, don’t PRAY!
If you’re going to COMPLAIN, don’t ASK!
We have to be willing and ready to do and complete the tasks that we asked for.
If we are going to complain about anything that we we got on our knees for, went to an altar call for, asked our boss for, or asked our pastors for then why are you asking in the first place?
Why are you praying in the first place?
If you ask, you had better be willing to receive. Don’t throw it down after you kept on about it. We have got to stay humble.
Let’s reevaluate ourselves and the things we asked for. You might miss the next level complaining in your now.
